Third group of metal workers arrives in Finland
12th November 2008
The third group of Chinese metal workers arrived in Finland at the beginning of November. The ten workers are from northern and northeastern China. All the workers had already signed job contracts in China and attended a three-month culture and language course before coming to Finland.
"They are very motivated and outspoken people," said migrant services coordinator Tomi Virolainen from the Mänttä Regional Education Center (MSKK). The hiring companies have commissioned a six-week migrant integration course from MSKK to help the workers adjust to their new home country. The course will include supplementary work skills training, visits to the new workplaces, job safety tests and further Finnish language teaching. After this, the workers will start their work.
